the dsa™ presidente drill
The parameters for the DSA™ Presidente drill are as follows: Three (3) 10″ round plates 5 feet high are positioned 2 yards apart. The shooter will be positioned in front of the center plate at a distance of 10 yards from the targets. Starting position will be wrists above waist in a “fence” position. From the holster on the start signal (timer) the shooter will draw and engage each plate with 2 rounds and 2 rounds only. The shooter will then perform a slide-lock reload, then re-engage each plate with 2 rounds and 2 rounds only, thus completing the 12 round drill. Plates can be shot from left to right or right to left. There are no make up shots allowed. If any malfunctions occur during the drill the shooter will be given an opportunity to re-shoot.
There are currently 2 divisions a shooter can qualify for. The first division is the SUB9 category. To receive a SUB9 patch the shooter must complete the drill in under 9 seconds with zero misses. (8.99 seconds or less.)
The second division is the SUB7 category. To receive a SUB7 patch the shooter must complete the drill in under 7 seconds with zero misses. (6.99 seconds or less.)
